Imperial Red Ale

Sciaenops ocellatus, better known around Florida as the “Redfish,” is an extremely popular gamefish which gains more and more notoriety each year. From early fall through the spring, Redfish can be found in the bays and inland waters of the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of Florida.

Not too little; not too big; a “keeper” Redfish provides a strong challenge on light tackle, and a feast on the half-shell. Much the same can be said about Scieanhops, a holiday celebration Ale, created by our brewers to meet craft beer angler’s thirst for a hearty red ale with a feast of hop flavor and aroma.

This hop bomb of an Imperial Red Ale features five different hops and eight different malts. Sciaenhops starts off with a gigantic floral, citrus and tropical fruit hop aroma and flavor. While the generous amount of hops in this beer imparts a nice, crisp finish, the hops are featured alongside a generous malt sweetness that provides the balance and drinkability that makes this beer so unique.
