Assistant to the Tasting Room Manager Job Description
As the Assistant to the Tasting Room Manager for Swamp Head Brewery (SHB), you will work closely with the Tasting Room Manager and report to them, assisting in various aspects of tasting room operations and events.
The Assistant to the Tasting Room Manager for Swamp Head Brewery (SHB) will be required and expected to support the following tasks:
General Duties and Responsibilities as the Assistant to the Tasting Room Manager
- Must enjoy beer, the culture of beer, and sharing that culture with team members and guests alike
- Willing to continually seek ways to enhance the Swamp Head experience and brand
- Ensure the tasting room is clean, organized, and welcoming, helping to create an excellent guest experience
- Work with the Tasting Room Manager to manage guest interactions, ensuring all visitors feel valued and heard
- Assist in resolving guest concerns with professionalism and courtesy
- Set a positive example for team members regarding punctuality, appearance, and attitude
- Support event coordination by assisting with setup, execution, and cleanup for tasting room events
- Maintain effective communication with the Tasting Room Manager, informing them of any issues or updates in the tasting room
- Aid in daily operations, including the organization of the tasting room cooler and bar area, ensuring all areas are fully stocked and clean
- Help manage daily and weekly checklists, updating them as needed to support tasting room operations
- Support inventory tracking and ordering of supplies and beer to ensure smooth operations
Data Tracking and Reporting
- Assist in tracking and consolidating daily sales, inventory, and operational data to be reviewed with the Tasting Room Manager
- Support in analyzing daily sales data and trends, helping to identify inventory needs and manage stock levels
- Possess a working knowledge of the POS system, and assist in troubleshooting or communicating with technical support as needed
Abilities and Skills
- Able to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a busy environment
- Capable of standing for extended periods (8-10 hours per shift)
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, according to the tasting room and event schedule
- Must be a responsible, dependable, and proactive team player, able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with basic knowledge of Excel for inventory and sales reporting
- Must be at least 21 years of age
